Ted went to Central High School, located on State Street in Springfield. At the time it was considered one of the finest schools in the state. It was here that the first inkling of Ted’s career as a children’s author emerged. In the high school paper, The Recorder, Ted published his first writing in the form of a satirical poem and his first illustration.
